Our Mission

Our goal is to forge fun and unique worlds for all. And that is where you fit in.

We don't only make stuff of our own, but also help unite independent creators under a single banner. Anyone with the will to make mods, resource packs, mod packs or other for games such as Minecraft, Team Fortress 2 and more is welcome!

Dark Forge Partner Licenses

Dark Forge Partner (DFP) License is a non-legal, quality of product license meant to guarantee a game modification's quality, transparency, equal pay for equal work and fair pay in its production. There are two current versions of this License: 

  • Dark Forge Partner (DFP) License - contains terms for the Software's derivatives similar to the CC BY NC SA license
  • Dark Forge Partner 0 (DFP 0) License - no special terms for the Software's distribution, modification and more similar to the widely used MIT License

These Licenses were created to promote creative works and help promote cooperation between creators. Intended effect of these Licenses is better game modifications standards and shared growth of independent developers.

A Dark Forge Partner retains all monetary value that would've been acquired from their Project, keeps their authority and credit for their project. To retain the DFP License a Partner is required to meet the Licenses requirements. A DFP License isn't legally binding and following it isn't a legal requirement, but compliance is needed to keep the License. Abandoning a Project before it is finished will also null the License. By becoming a Partner, the participant is also entitled to limited help with their Project and gains the right to distribute their Software under the Dark Forge organisation on platforms like Modrinth and GitHub.

Dark Forge Partner License isn't legally binding. We are not a law firm, but a game studio!
